The s biology and history departments have been awarded a three-year, $250,000 grant from the University of Texas System to support a pilot program designed to enhance traditional undergraduate education. With about 150 students being a conservative estimate of the number of students in my biology class which I teach, I have to request for additional time to prepare my lessons for each day, apart from other administrative demand on me. I would rather advise parents who are over-emphasizing the demand for bio from teachers to find ways and means of helping the child to adjust to the new teacher instead of a stellar teacher that is not easy to find to this day. The latest version of Keystone Exams calls for the state to provide 10 end-of-course exams, beginning with English literature, Algebra 1 and biology in 2010-11, with other subjects being phased in through 2016-17.
